| The May Queen is
always chosen by the other pupils and that year the most popular
girl was Carole Miss Kilcoyne, the
Head Mistress, said she looked so innocent and angelic that Carole
really did fit that description. Miss Kilcoyne made her dress and
veil.

Mum had to take her
for fittings at Miss Kilcoyne’s bungalow. The hymn that was sung
was ‘Bring flowers of the rarest’ – it was sung beautifully by
all the congregation – a brilliant day.
